We have a large range of hot and cold water pressure washers in stock. Where a special configuration is needed, the unit will be ordered and built to meet your unique requirements. We specialize in LANDA and HYDROTEK pressure washers.
Advantages of using a Pressure Washer:
Since the engine/motor of the pressure washer is designed to "do the work", a significant savings in user
time and energy is realized when the proper pressure washer is used for a given job. A pressure washer is 25 to
75 times the power of the normal garden hose, the job is done quicker with less water.
Choosing the proper Pressure Washer:
Some manufacturers in the pressure washer industry have developed, and use a unit called "CU" or
"Cleaning Units". This unit of measure, for a given pressure washer, is determined by multiplying the gallons per
minute by the pounds per square inch (GPM X PSI). The resulting answer is the "CU’S" for the unit and can be
used to measure and compare its usable cleaning power. Using this factor a buyer can compare various units'
performance vs. price.
A typical garden hose provides 40 PSI at 8 GPM or 40 X 8 = 320 CU’s
A typical pressure washer provides 2,500 PSI at 3 GPM or 2,500 X 3 = 7,500 CU’s

Hot vs. Cold Pressure Washers:
This choice is usually determined by the application and users budget. Applications requiring significant
sterilization, as in many food related industries, as well as grease cutting are often candidates for application of a
hot pressure washer. Cost is also a consideration. The price for a hot unit is in the range of 2 to 4 times the cost of
a similar PSI-GPM cold unit. A hot unit not only must provide the same source of high pressure water as the cold
units, but it must then be heated. The high pressure water stream is routed thru a "boiler" system which heats the
pressurized water. These boilers are generally heated with a diesel or natural gas fueled burner, adding weight as well as an
exhaust factor to be considered in the use of these units.
Nozzle Size Selection:
In order to get the proper operation from your pressure washer, it is important to obtain and use the proper
size nozzle. For instance, if you use a nozzle with a 1/4" hole in the tip, you would not be able to build any pressure
and not have much more than a garden hose to work with. It is the proper sized nozzle that lets your machine build
the pressure at the specific volume as designed. If the tip is too small, the "unloader" (the over pressure protection
device) may kick in and out and pulsate your pressure source. Again an unusable situation. Below is a chart to
select the proper sized tip which was supplied in a publication produced by "General Pump".
