A worn piston can very often cause premature failing of packings. If your pump needs to be repacked more often than when it was new, the cause could be a worn or damaged piston. The piuston needs replacement if your old rod has more than .004 inch wear in the middle of the seal area, or if you can catch your fingernail on a vertical grove in the rod.
This piston replaces the Titan 700580, 700-580 rod.
